de Havilland Aircraft Museum

de Havilland Aircraft Museum

The de Havilland Aircraft Museum, formerly the de Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre, is a volunteer-run aviation museum in London Colney, Hertfordshire, England.

The collection is built around the definitive prototype and restoration shops for the de Havilland Mosquito and also includes several examples of the de Havilland Vampire - the third operational jet aircraft in the world.

Visitors can explore an impressive collection of historic aircraft, including several de Havilland Mosquito models, the iconic prototype WWII‑era “Wooden Wonder,” and the Comet 1A, the world’s first jet airliner ever put into service.

Interactive displays, indoor hangars, and restoration workshops make this attraction engaging for all ages — especially those interested in technology, engineering, and flight history.

The museum also offers unique experiences like cockpit tours, group tours with expert guides, and occasional special events throughout the year that bring aviation heritage to life.

With free parking, a café for refreshments, and a shop selling aviation memorabilia and models, it makes a rewarding stop during your visit to St Albans.
